Dandelion honey is the ‘early honey’, it is collected in spring when the fields and meadows are colourful, it is not easy to obtain as at this time the bees are not always ready to come up and deposit it in the honeycombs. This type of honey has a fast crystallisation, therefore, it is necessary to remove it in a timely manner from the ripeners, otherwise it complicates the potting phase.
Among the main characteristics of this product we must mention that it is draining, depurative and diuretic; it aims to eliminate toxins from our body. It has a penetrating smell and a taste reminiscent of chamomile and other essential oils. Finally, it has a high water content, which the beekeeper corrects to ensure good preservation of the product.

The producer
This small beekeeping company was founded in 2013 in the region of the parks, Abruzzo. The founder of this small company is called Paola, and the name of her company is derived from her name: “IlDolceMielediPaola“.
Her character has led her to get close to and be continually in contact with nature. Her passion for bees was born during her adolescence, due to the great respect and admiration that she nurtured (and still nurtures) for these small and large creatures. They are the link, the harmonious bond between her and her territory. In this fascinating adventure, she is accompanied by her family, who support her from March to October without respite.
Paola’s beekeeping company strongly believes in our project, so that we can grow and progress together.
Production area
The production area of these fragrant honeys is Abruzzo, the region of parks, more precisely “Marsica“, the kingdom of the Marsican bear, a very greedy and skilled hunter of beehives. It is here in a small authentic village, Pereto, in the province of L’Aquila, that quality honey is produced on a promontory that stands out among beech, oak and downy oak woods and splendid clearings.
It is here, at the foot of Mount Pontecellese and guarding the “knight’s plain” that their bees work tirelessly; between crenellated walls and uncontaminated meadows, in the absence of intensive production because nature needs its own time. It is here that they live among wooden and wax looms, in little houses where the sun shines early in the morning.
