Btaly congratulates Elena Bonali and Stefano Serafini on winning the Tiramisu World Cup.

“The Italian summer” is not over yet, the pastry world championship and the many sporting and musical successes were not enough; this time the two new protagonists are Stefano Serafini and Elena Bonali. Thanks to their recipes they became world champions in the prestigious Tiramisù World Cup in Treviso. More than 200 people from all over the world took part in this competition.

Stefano, a jeweller from Bassano del Grappa, triumphed in the “Traditional Tiramisu” category, i.e. with the classic recipe (eggs, sugar, mascarpone cheese, ladyfingers, coffee and cocoa). On the other hand, Elena (a swimming teacher living in Antwerp) managed to win in the ‘creative’ category, inventing a special version of one of the most popular desserts with ham and melon. Immediately after the award ceremony, the former decided to dedicate the victory to his wife: “It is a result of love and I share it with my wife Elena, my ‘invisible coach’ who has been supporting me since the beginning of this adventure”. Elena Bonali, for her part, explained how she came up with the idea for her recipe: “It comes from the Italian summer, with toasted prosciutto, melon and Pavesini.”
